When Boris Johnson announced that restaurants and cafes would have to close their doors for at least three weeks, it came as a shock to thousands of independent food businesses up and down the country.

We’ve seen some great examples of cafe and restaurant business quickly pivoting to offer delivery and takeaway services and there’s help at hand for those businesses who want to join them.

Website platform, Shopblocks, is offering free website setup for restaurants and cafes in the UK who’ve been affected. 

So, what’s the deal?

  • The usual £700 setup fee for new restaurants is waived. You can get online free
  • On going cost is £39/month
  • You’ll be able to take online orders and payments online
  • You can be online within 7 days

Who is eligible?

The offer’s open to any restaurant or cafe in the UK that has been impacted by the Coronavirus closures.

How long will it last?

It’s a limited time offering but there’s no specific end date published. I imagine that will very much depend on what happens with the virus.
